SocialBu MCP: Run Client Social From ChatGPT or Claude

SocialBu MCP: Run Client Social From ChatGPT or Claude

I use Marky in my social content workflow. It is my reference point when I look at tools that help turn ideas into a consistent social presence. SocialBu sits in a similar category, but the reason it caught my attention on AppSumo is specific: MCP access.

If your agency already works inside ChatGPT or Claude, that changes the buying question. Can the assistant help you move the work into the publishing system, rather than leaving you with another document to copy and paste?

Why SocialBu is this week’s pick

SocialBu brings scheduling, multi-brand organization and performance reporting into one product. Its supported channels include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Google Business Profile. That mix makes it relevant to agencies serving local businesses. Source: current product listing.

I am looking at it through one problem: keeping a client’s useful content moving without turning every post into a small administrative project. The product should serve that outcome. The outcome should not become an excuse to collect more software.

What MCP actually adds

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It gives an AI assistant a standard way to connect to external tools. Source: MCP documentation.

SocialBu documents tools for creating drafts, scheduling posts, inspecting planned content and retrieving performance data. Its server connects through account authorization at https://socialbu.com/mcp. The company lists ChatGPT and Claude among compatible clients. Source: SocialBu MCP documentation.

For an agency owner, the practical shift is from asking an assistant to write copy to asking it to help manage a defined piece of client work. Your direction still matters: which client, which accounts, which offer, which dates and who approves the result.

How I would build a local client’s week

Start with one client and one offer. A heating contractor wants more maintenance appointments. Give the assistant the approved offer, service area, booking link, brand voice and available photos. Then ask:

“Using this approved brief, prepare three drafts for the contractor’s Facebook Page and Google Business Profile: one maintenance tip, one answer to a common customer question, and one appointment invitation. Identify the correct connected accounts first. Save drafts only. Show me the copy, links and proposed dates before scheduling.”

This is a proposed workflow, not a report of a client campaign I have run with SocialBu. Account support, media requirements and the tools available in your connection determine what can be completed.

Review the drafts for accuracy and local relevance. Approve the exact posts and dates. Then ask the connected assistant to schedule those approved items and return confirmation. A week later, request a summary of the available post metrics and use it to decide what to repeat.

You have a repeatable service: brief, draft, approve, schedule, review. Add another client only when that loop works.

Marky is my reference point—not a claim that the tools are identical

My use of Marky is why this category is familiar. SocialBu deserves consideration for a similar job: helping maintain a social content operation. This article is not a feature-by-feature comparison, and I am not claiming SocialBu will replace every part of my Marky workflow.

My interest is the connection to the assistant. If you already develop strategy and copy in ChatGPT or Claude, MCP can shorten the handoff to the tools doing the work. Test the account connection and approval process before moving your existing operation.

Choose the tier that includes MCP

The founder confirms API and MCP access in Tier 2, with the same core features in Tiers 3 and 4. Higher tiers mainly expand capacity. Source: founder’s tier explanation.

On October 2, 2026, the listing showed Tier 2 at $129, with 25 social accounts and 1,500 monthly posts. Each connected profile or Page counts separately, and publishing to several accounts consumes several posts. Prices and limits can change; check the current deal before buying.

Do not choose Tier 1 for the MCP workflow described here. Also check exclusions: the current AppSumo FAQ excludes Content Curation, and the founder’s tier explanation excludes Advanced Analytics. Earlier founder answers differ on curation, so do not build your purchase around that feature without written clarification.

FAQs

Can SocialBu work with ChatGPT or Claude?

SocialBu documents remote MCP support for both. Your assistant account must support adding a compatible remote MCP connection, and workspace settings may control access. Check your account’s current connector options before buying specifically for this workflow.

Does MCP mean it publishes everything automatically?

No. Define the workflow. My starting point is drafts first, review second, approved scheduling third. MCP provides tool access; it does not decide your editorial policy.

Have I personally tested SocialBu?

This pick is based on the product’s documented capabilities and current deal information. My personal-use reference is Marky. I am not presenting a hands-on SocialBu review.

Is this useful for local marketing agencies?

It is worth evaluating when your agency manages recurring client content and wants the assistant involved in the handoff. Test one client’s actual accounts and reporting needs before expanding.

My take

SocialBu is worth a look if you want your AI assistant connected to your social operation. Start with one client, prove the approval loop, and buy the capacity you will use.
